About
We made it for the family planning a funeral, in a register that takes grief seriously and refuses to be cheerful about it. We named it after a passage of scripture for a reason.
Why we are called
"I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him."
1 Thessalonians 4:13 — 14
The product is named for these verses. They contain a promise read at countless funerals — that grief is real, and that hope is real with it.
ThessaFour is built on a Christian foundation. It serves any family of any faith, or of none — and we mean that openly. But the foundation shapes everything else: the tone, the pacing, the refusal to euphemise what happened.
What we believe
We say "died," not "passed away."
Every family is welcome, regardless of faith.
Grief is not a problem to solve.
Hope is real. So is sorrow. We carry both.
We never sell what you share with us.
Families use the basic product free.
The tribute page is yours, for as long as you need it.
We are named for 1 Thessalonians 4. We do not preach.
Who made this
ThessaFour was built by a small team after someone we loved died, and the existing tools for planning a funeral felt cold, or commercial, or both. So we made something quieter.
We are not a funeral company. We do not arrange services or sell flowers. We make the planning tool, and we make it carefully, because the families who use it are mostly in the worst week of their lives.
We are still building it. If you find something that could be better, please tell us.
